Grief and Mourning are emotions that usually occur when there is a death in your family. Many families do not return to funeral home for help because they don't know that the funeral home is able to help them. If grief continues for a longer than normal amount of time you may need to seek additional help. Please view the stages of grief and resources below.

Stages of Grief

1. Denial - “I feel fine.” or “This can’t be happening to me!,”

2. Anger - “Why me? It’s not fair!” or “How can this happen to me!” or “Who is to blame?”

3. Bargaining - “Just let me live to see my children graduate.” or “I’ll do anything for a few more years.” or “I will give my life savings if...”

4. Depression - “I’m so sad, why bother with anything?” or “I’m going to die . . . What’s the point?” or “I miss my loved one, why go on?”

5. Acceptance - “It’s going to be okay.” or “I can handle it with change” or “I can’t fight it, I may as well prepare for it.”

(These stages can occur in any order)
